Overview
Submicron can provide a complete solution to your engineering needs, from concept design through to delivery of turn-key products. Some examples of our work can be seen in the picture gallery. While we specialise primarily in encapsulation and potting, we also have the technical expertise on hand to deal with the broad spectrum of Engineering disciplines.
Below is a list of our services, more detailed information on the processes can be found in the resource section of the site. If you have any questions, we would be delighted to hear from you; our advise will usually only cost you the price of a phonecall......
----------------------------------------------
Encapsulation / Moulding
Submicron's encapsulation and moulding service is the ideal way to protect your product from many forms of damage and corrosion. The component can be either placed in a mould and an epoxy or urethane compound poured in, or be dipped into the compound itself. This process gives a neat and extremely tough result and can have the added bonus of disguising components or circuits where discretion is required.

Potting
Submicron's potting service is similar to encapsulation but the product involved is already sat in some kind of vessel - quite often a plastic or metal box. This vessel is filled with an epoxy, urethane or silicon compound, giving excellent protection to the contents. Again, this process can disguise components if discretion is required. We currently pot a whole host of different products for varying industry sectors.

Coil Impregnation
Submicron's Coil Impregnation service is the ideal solution for customers who require extra protection for any type of wire wound product: Transformers, Solenoids, Relays.... We currently force-impregnate coils for a customer's product which has critical safety applications.

Coating
Submicron's coating service is invaluable for customers who require protection for their products, but who do not require the mechanical resillience or the added bulk of encapsulation or potting. We can coat your products, whether they be individual components on a circuit board or indeed the whole board itself, with a choice of materials ranging from tropicalised varnish right through to parylene.

Mould Design
Submicron has successfully designed and made moulds for many of our customers. We can work from drawings of the components or the components themselves. Examples of our moulds can be seen in the picture gallery. We are totally flexible in that we can design and machine the mould for you, or we can just supply you with drawings so that you can get it made yourself.

Machining
Whether you need a mould to be made, or if your components need to be made from scratch or just finished, this is another service Submicron can offer. While we have limited CNC machining facilities on site, we can supply you with competitive rates for any of your machining needs.

----------------------------------------------
Assembly
Much of our work involves some kind of assembly before potting or encapsulation. This can range from simple mechanical assembly through to PCB component population. Our quality of work is first class and we can provide this service for you at competitive rates.

Electronics
With the exception of some heavy electrical applications, all of the work undertaken at Submicron falls into the Electronics category; hardly suprising given the current consumer climate. Everything seems to become more powerful, smaller in size and faster in operation - all consumer driven. We at Submicron take that very seriously and as such, have a strong Electronics team. We can cater for your needs from circuit design through to testing - and of course we can encapsulate, pot or coat your products afterwards!
